Rural skills projects with schools during term e.g. “seed to supper” more…
Here at the Lochaber Rural Education Trust we run a “seed to supper” project with local primary schools. We take them through the whole process of growing vegetables from planting seeds/plantlets to cropping and eating. It is a very hands on interactive project.
We have a small animals section housing rabbits, guinea pigs, hens and chickens we have a small hatchery where children can watch the chicks hatching.
We work with special needs local children too on various projects most recently making insect and bird boxes for our garden.
We hold an annual Garden Show where the children can enter their produce grown, the show is open to the public to enter too.
We run holiday clubs please check our what’s on page for dates.
